Best practices report
This report, "Connecting urban and rural communities through civic agriculture: beautiful, inclusive and sustainable agricultural practices in Europe," is one of the outputs of the C.U.R.A. project, co-funded by the CONNECT NEB programme, part of the EIT Community New European Bauhaus. It presents the results of a research process aimed at identifying and selecting best practices in civic agriculture across Europe — practices that embody the New European Bauhaus principles and values while strengthening the connection between rural and urban communities.
The purpose of this study goes beyond simple description. By mapping and analyzing a set of inspiring initiatives, we aim to build a resource that cities and communities can draw on to design their own pathways toward more connected, participatory, and sustainable food systems. Perugia, where the project team is based, is a primary point of reference — but the ambition of this collection extends well beyond a single city. The practices documented here are meant to offer inspiration and a foundation for growth to any European territory seeking to bridge the divide between rural and urban life through agriculture, in a beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable way.
