About C.U.R.A.

C.U.R.A. aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities in Perugia by setting up a living lab to co-create innovative business, social, and partnership models for sustainable, inclusive, and resilient local food systems, shorter supply chains, and greener, more beautiful urban and rural spaces.

Civic agriculture — which emphasizes community involvement and local food production — plays a key role in the project. Through practical training at Microcosmo, as well as farm visits, walking tours, and tastings, C.U.R.A. builds knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and the challenges they involve among a diverse range of participants, including farmers, consumers, environmental activists, researchers, and policymakers.

C.U.R.A. also reviews European best practices and policies in civic agriculture, summarizing its findings in a policy brief with concrete recommendations. Through a public exhibition, the project encourages behavioral change and fosters a more collaborative food culture among its stakeholders.

C.U.R.A. is implemented by Microcosmo, an organic, multifunctional farm based in Italy.
