C.U.R.A. is a project in Perugia, that brings farmers, citizens, environmental activists and other changemakers together in a living lab to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful food future.

The challenge
The gap between cities and countryside is growing wider — not just in distance, but in understanding. In Perugia, as in much of Europe, urban residents are increasingly disconnected from where their food comes from, while rural communities and small farmers struggle to be heard in decisions that shape their land and livelihoods.
C.U.R.A. was born from a simple conviction: food can be the bridge between urban and rural realities, between farmers and consumers.
The solution: RURBAN food lab
At the heart of C.U.R.A.'s solution is the creation of a living lab, the RURBAN FOOD LAB: a collaborative space for dialogue, innovation, and co-creation.
Within the lab, solutions will be prototyped for shorter, fairer, and more sustainable local food chains — designed to meet the needs of both producers and consumers.
Led by the grassroots initiative of Microcosmo organic farm, the RURBAN FOOD LAB brings together farmers, citizens, environmental associations and civil society organizations to engage in civic agriculture initiatives.
